25th Class Reunion Bash

Our class held the 25th Reunion on August 6, 2011 at the Cardinal Ale House in Columbus.  Despite no warm-up the day before, festivities got under way at 5 pm with unfamiliar faces strolling around the restaurant and looking suspiciously at one another wondering if they were distant classmates, and continued until about 4 am when the police broke up the last group.  I thought it was definitely easier to recognize female classmates, but Mike Smith, Joe Lucafo, and Vic Dela Cruz were easy pegs.  The evening was a hoot for all in attendance!  Patti Soter, Sheryl Kaether, and David Nadolski earned appreciation for organizing this event.

Twenty-eight classmates came to the reunion and this was an adequate number to fully converse with most everyone.  Nate Wendt and Lisa Hetzel even came!  The furthest were North Carolina (Carrie Schmutzer) and Idaho (Adam Porth).  Even though 25 years have passed and despite the teenage horrors of youthful dramas, it was clear that everyone in attendance were friends.  There were lot's of updates, stories of family, personal tragedies,  reminiscent laughter, shared thoughts, and future plans and plots.  When you really think about it, we spent a significant amount of time with each other in and out of school.  In some cases, more than with our own immediate families.

It was after a few pitchers of Miller Lite that Patti Soter and I thought of building a website for our classmates.  It took me a week of trial and error, but here is the sister site (blog) to the parent site (Class of 1986).  We hope you will enjoy, share, and return for more news, periodic updates, news from your classmates, and plans for future reunions.  I look forward to re-acquainting myself with as many of you as I can and I hope that you wish the same.
